awesome and fun! it keeps me coning back! i love the setting of the game and im a sucker for cheesy puns! one thing though the tutorial wasn't very clear for me, i feel like a more in game tutorial would've helped, like hades saying how to play, same goes for the upgrades, those weren't very clear either. but other than that the game is great and i love the tv screen menu, very creative! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I realize the start could be loaded with more gameplay introduction, but I had to strike a balance between new player experience and returning player experience, still that's a fair point.

But the sponsor/buff system I wanted to keep more "secret", so there would another layer of discovering the mechanics.

Thanks for your feedback and for trying out the game, I appreciate it!

(:

This is tremendous fun to play! I love the concept and playing as a mythological beast is awesome. The axe swing has a ton of weight to it and feels really nice to use, and turning into a bull and mowing everything down is awesome. The incorporation of sponsors as power-ups is also a clever idea. The music and SFX work really well with this kind of game (please tell me you recorded the mooing yourself). I really enjoyed the game and even got a few laughs out of it. Great job!

Great, that's everything and more than I wanted to achieve with the game! Really happy you enjoyed it ๐Ÿ˜

I ended up using external assets (as I'm more technically oriented) including the Mooing shared by acclivity over at Freesound. I also used his recording of Shakespeare's "Henry V" as one of the channel voices - I recommend checking his stuff out!

Really cool game !
The introduction is clever, the puns are fun, art is cool...

One detail though, I find it sad that the best strategy is too just wait until enough skulls stack on us and use the Cow attack to heal and destroy the whole pack before waiting for the next... but a small fix should prevent this to be possible!

Good job!

Hey thanks for dropping in!

That's a very valid point. What happened was, I ended up giving the special ability invulnerability at the request of a friend - but I think what I'll do (post-game jam period) is remove the healing factor - so, no health lost, but no healing to infinity and beyond.

I see, I was thinking of maybe having your life slowly decreasing when skulls are on tof of you but make what works better for you :)

That might be a good approach - it's the little details that make the game really enjoyable in the end, don't you think?

It is the icing on the cake, but the cake matters first ;)

(The cake is a lie?)

gorgeous art and music. the swing of the axe especially felt really satisfying! The gameplay was fun but repetetive. Would love to see more enemy variaty. The opening with "switch channel" is genious and an amazing way to start a "game show" game. Great work!

I think deep down in my heart, I really wanted to create a simple, repetitive game - something satisfying to just vibe with, but more variety of skulls is something I'd definitely like to return to in the future, thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ˜Ž
